Marlene Wolff Solomon

Marlene Wolff Solomon has been writing poetry since she was a young girl. She won awards for some of her poetry as well as being published in a poetry anthology and other books. Further, she has recited her own works at poetry readings and other various events. Additionally, she was a guest poet in her children’s elementary school classes, sharing her collection of poetry written for children. She hopes to continue that practice with her grandchildren, ages six and four, at the appropriate time.

Marlene has written poems for candle-lighting ceremonies, anniversaries, birthdays, invitations, graduations and many other occasions. And, she wrote and published a book, Dear Dad, I Will Always Love You! after her father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

She graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts. With her lifelong love of writing, she was an English major with an area of concentration in Business and Professional Writing. At the University of Baltimore, she was elected to Sigma Tau Delta, the National English Honor Society, as a member of the Pi Xi chapter. Furthermore, she is a member of The Baltimore Jewish Writers’ Guild and Poets’ Ink. Marlene has been married to Bruce for over 47 years and is the mother of Barry Solomon and Allison Parsons as well as Bubbie (grandmother in Yiddish) to Piper Tobi Parsons and Ryder Solomon Parsons. She resides in Owings Mills, Maryland.
