What is so special about wintertime?
It’s the time in that cold clime

When wonderful, beloved days appear
The holiday-est time of the year.

So let the season’s bells chime
To welcome in this unique time

Cards with happy holiday thoughts
Gifts you have made or maybe bought

It’s time to give those gifts that please
It’s time for lighted homes and trees

It’s time for the candles glowing
Outside, maybe it is even snowing

Time for lovely songs you’re singing
Hark! Visitors, the doorbell’s ringing

Time for unique window-looking
In the kitchen, there’s lots of cooking

In the oven, goodies are baking
And for lots of party making

It’s the time for lots of giving
Grateful for all those still living

Different people, different traditions
Yet every year the same rendition

But maybe news that war will cease
Finally, a truce, and true peace
