Will another parent get the call?
It is the very worst one of all.

Will they rush to another school
to get the news, needlessly cruel?

We can and should make it stop.
We cannot let another ball drop.

Each day it seems we add more numbers.
Are we so numb we’re in a slumber?

“Guns don’t kill, people do.”
This oft-heard quote is not true.

How tragic so many are naive
and in their hearts they don’t believe

without guns or with legislation,
we would be a much safer nation.

Hearts went to Sandy Hook, 2012, December
And 12 years later we still remember.

Are we condemned to repeat and repeat?
Can this crime be something we can beat?

Nothing changes if nothing is done.
The violence continues and it’s won.

Listen to parents and others’ pleas.
Won’t you take the promise, please?
