Fie on You, Bird Flu…
Passover’s coming and no eggs
This year’s holiday is the dregs
For those of you who might not know
This is our eight days with no dough
No leaven to make baked things rise
That’s why eggs are such a prize
With prices rising to the skies
Can you hear our Jewish cries?
No souffles or matzoh brei
Just plain matzoh, hard and dry
I love Pesach foods, most do not
This year’s meals will lack a lot
All because of the new bird flu
What is anyone to do?
Nothing is fair, all is fowl
Can you hear the people howl?
Get thee gone, oh nasty bird flu
Out, out, out virus, shoo, shoo, shoo!
