Darkness
It gets dark outside
earlier each day.
Fall is going to glide
in too soon, I say.
I like longer days
in the summertime.
Seeing the sun’s rays
puts me in my prime.
During the winter air
darks sets in at four.
I think it’s not fair—
summer should be more!
Now what can I do?
I don’t have much choice.
We now know it’s true:
In spring I will rejoice!
