Pumpkins Too Many
Am I a country bumpkin
Because I don’t like pumpkin?
A squash that’s now a spice.
Sorry, that taste isn’t so nice.
The hype begins in early October
Pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin over and over.
In muffins, coffee, donuts and cakes
It’s everywhere, for goodness sakes!
Peanuts’ Linus sits in the patch
Waiting for the Great Pumpkin to hatch.
Me? I’m waiting underneath the covers
Wishing this fad was something other!
The hysteria goes on until Halloween!
Makes me nuts; I want to scream!
And if October’s obsession isn’t enough
Then comes November with more pumpkin stuff.
December brings candy canes, eggnog and gingerbread.
Through all these months at least I’m well fed.

This is really adorable, though I have to tell you, I like pumpkins, possibly because they come at my favorite time of year.
Eileen, this is absolutely adorable! I love it. And, I happen to love pumpkin everything. I’ll eat your share. LOL
