Open Letter to Congress

You’re the people we elected
But now we feel neglected,
Also rejected

For too many years you’ve been sitting
Rarely, doing our bidding
This is not fitting

Where’s your spine?
You just tow the executive line
But with midterms, now it’s our time

Be it with Repubs or with Dems
Few of you are gems
With our choices we’ll amend

Mistakes we both have made
Costly prices we have paid
The course we’ve foolishly stayed

Hopefully we’ll get on the stick
So this mess we can fix
The magic date – November 3, ’26

But first we must remember
Primary elections: March 3 – September
The outcome may be slender

FYI:

• U.S. House of Representatives: All 435 seats will be contested.
• U.S. Senate: 35 of 100 seats will be up for election
• 2 Special Elections  to fill unexpired Senate terms in Florida & Ohio
