Friendship | Gratitude | Hinda Blum | Poetry
If We Were Friends
If we were friends
I’d give you my heart
we’d dance and sing
and play and do art
We’d skip through the creek
paddle down the river
run as fast as we can
we’d laugh and we’d holler
We’d dress up for fun
climb mountains high
we’d swing from the branches
reach for the sky
But I’m getting older
I can’t run so fast
my knees start to buckle
and I start to gasp
So let’s stroll through the garden
have ourselves some tea
two hearts together
grateful to be.
