Class of ’71 at Pikesville High
Rough white foam spewed out
from underneath
the bottom of the tour boat,
as we rode out to sea
one sunny evening,
in Lewes, Delaware,
two best friends from
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
Reconnecting with one another
after 50 years flew by,
faster than lightening,
reliving precious memories
of Junior and Senior proms,
cutting class for the donut run, from
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
Both of us sorry we lost touch
during our college years,
yet joining together
as if those years never passed by,
picking up the pieces,
becoming two close friends again,
from a three-day weekend away,
after meeting in the 10th grade in
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
We love the beach
more than words can say,
finding it serene and quiet,
so we travelled together,
reconnecting a friendship,
so old, yet so brand new,
after first meeting in
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
What a wonderful experience
for two close people, blossoming
into friendship once again,
exploring each other,
liking what we found,
even more so than when we met in
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
Such a positive feeling shared; beautiful
moments on a hot, sunny, sandy beach,
a gorgeous sunset seen from the boat,
magnificent million dollar homes
dotting the sand’s edge, kissing the water,
each of us with our own thoughts,
some to be shared, others to remain inside, from
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.
Another beach trip will be shared by us,
in the future, for a longer time,
as three days are not enough
since Peggy and I date back so far, from
our class of ’71 at Pikesville High.

So glad you reconnected, Marlene. Go class of ‘71!
Marlene, Reading this again I like it even more. It’s so tender and sweet and really shows how much you care about each other. It’s very lucky to have such relationships.
