A Country Holds Its Breath
Let the awful death of Renee Good be for good:
May our government act as it should,
Not fill the world’s citizens with fear
And let it start here.
The world’s state is out of kilter
Starting with the U.S. Hitler.
Every day it’s something new.
We can’t fathom what he’ll do.
We’re the illegal immigrant in the land
Of Venezuela, Greenland and Iran.
While in Ukraine we waffle every day
About keeping Russia at bay.
Yes, illegal drugs are daily killing our very own,
But we are hiding the truth under a stone.
Hopefully, the minions of Kristi Noem
Will leave every state and go home.
T does not deserve the title President.
How many people, their vote repent?
But who could have guessed his pettiness
While to a select few his great largess?
He’s the male Marie Antoinette.
He does not see; he does not get
People are starving and they’re dying,
Cutting down vaccines, leaves babies crying.
Now the Clintons and Powell of the Reserve—
Will T ever get what he deserves?
Today he’s trampling on state’s rights—
Will he ever see the light?
While painting the White House gold
And a new ballroom to behold,
This house he can only rent
And changing names without consent.
Of course there is more
His tariffs causing financial war;
At home and abroad
People now needing to hoard.
In this country of so much wealth,
He’s destroying not just health.
Education’s taking a lynching.
Both are suffering a pinching.
Releasing those who should be in jail
A whole new meaning: freedom for sale;
The pardoned criminal, no longer perverse
Blackmailing, kidnapping or worse?
Is there any reason for this treason?
It’s been going on for many a season.
As he plies his lies, changing facts
To cover up his awful acts.
What can be in the Epstein file
That he’s hiding with stalling guile?
Of his crimes, some large, some great
So many I can’t enumerate.
I have so many dreadful fears
Can we make it three more years?
Of course, we cannot get perfection
But a start is the mid-term election.
