Our Mean Green Pool

The water in our pool turned green.
It’s something we had never seen.

The outside temps were very high.
We couldn’t swim; it made us cry.

What caused this problem? We didn’t know.
Found out algae began to grow.

To Leslie’s Pool Supply we flew.
Gave water samples; then we knew.

Lots of chemicals we had to buy
Hoping the algae would go bye-bye.

It was trial and error for sure;
How much stuff in the pool to pour?

Finally, the color had changed.
It was in a much better range.

Green gunk was no longer there.
At last, the water was crystal clear!

Buddy’s Pool Service had to go.
We cancelled so they wouldn’t show.

It was three weeks out anyway.
Our swimming would’ve had a delay.

Even though it was somewhat late.
Now time to swim! It feels so great.

Though the pool had opened in late May.
Our first swim was a bright June day.

It is so hot outside right now.
I’m in my suit. I have my towel.

Ah, the water feels nice and cool
In my clean and clear refreshing pool.

Now we’ll swim throughout the summer.
This year will not be a bummer!

But it turned green another day!
Surely, we would have to pay

A company to make it right
And eliminate green blight.

Universal Pool we chose to call.
They’re coming Monday; we won’t bawl.

We’ll pay to fix our swimming pool.
This will keep us really cool.

Hope this problem won’t come back.
Never again an algae attack!
