Stand Up to Cancer
STAND UP TO CANCER—One Night One Goal
Stand up to cancer, reduce the toll.
With your contribution–any donation,
We’ll fight cancer across our nation,
And through our loud clarion call
We say this fight’s for one and all.
Throughout the medical world
New plans, meds and tests unfurled.
In memory of loved ones lost
Saving lives and cutting costs.
In honor of survivors strong
Continue to make the list ever long.
We know, cancer’s a mighty foe
That strikes the highest and the low.
It is such an awful pity,
It takes any ethnicity,
Really, if the truth be told,
It affects the young and old.
And any religion, so sad but true.
Will it get me or maybe you?
Cancer’s not picky; it’s color blind.
It attacks and affects all mankind.
But also strikes beloved pets.
It’s as bad as any disease gets.
So don’t sit around, get up and stand
Along with people across the land.
Say, “No” to cancer: It’s time to go.
I’m pitching in; here’s my dough.
